Text of report by Somali Puntland newspaper `Sahan' on 25th May

Reliable sources close to the SNA [Somali National Alliance] say that Mogadishu faction leaders have agreed to appoint Museh Sudi Yalahow as chairman of Banaadir Region [Mogadishu and environs].

The decision to appoint Muse Sudi Yalahow, who has emerged as one of the most influential people in the city, was reached during secret talks between the faction leaders. The sources added that faction leaders had also agreed to open Mogadishu airport and seaport before the end of the Somali reconciliation conference in Arta Djibouti.
