The Danger from the Horn of Africa
Somalia Watch organization had made this PRESS RELEASE some months ago.
The situation in the Horn of Africa is not getting any better. So we repeat the PRESS
RELEASE again.
What is the role of the International Communities - specifically the SECURITY COUNCIL of
the UN and Secretary General of the UN towards the the Somali issue? Why is the World Body
helpless to find a solution to the Somali problem? Is the World aware of the potential
danger some parts of Somalia is becoming to destabilise the whole East and Central African
Regions? Is the world aware that a series of proxy wars are being fought or will be fought
in Somalia on behalf of this or that regional or local power? There are at least 8 UN
member states which are fighting their proxy wars in Somalia. The country is also
potentially a haven for dangerous groups. What is the UN going to do about this??Just sit
back and watch?? Shouldn't the World body and the International Communities be helping
the areas that established peaceful and stable governments, like Puntland, Somaliland,
Jubaland and others?
