Week-in-Review

Eid Mubarak & Happy Holidays

SHASNA MediaWatch department follows news analysis, commentaries, trends, news reports and press releases of the week. We pay special attention to Somali news in general, and to Arab financed and UN supported ‘ARTA TERROR CELLS’ in particular. We analyze, digest and separate facts from fiction. With so many news outlets and so many groups, each one vying for your attention, we will try our very best to fairly analyze what you have read or missed reading.

Nairobi, Kenya

The Guardian - James Astill – December 4, 2001: Wrong Target

And the Nairobi based foreign correspondents keep hitting the wroooong targets and keep talking to each other and to Mr. Randolph Kent! Since there wasn’t any meaningful breakthrough on that story, we hereby share with you a note we sent to Mr. Astill and carbon copied to his friends at the their UN compounds in Nairobi and in Nairobi’s Grand Regency Hotel:

Dear James,
Contrary to your Guardian report of December 4th, Somalia is an open book and it has no secrets. The least likely place to find Somalia's secrets and Al-Qaeda bases is not through the UN's offices in Nairobi or Mr. Randolph Kent's SACB or their Mogadishu TNG – of course sponsored by Messrs. Kent and Stephens, UN political officers based in Nairobi and who hardly set foot in Somalia - and whose TNG parliamentarians include well-known Al-Qaeda members, financiers and some US most wanted individuals (Col. Hassan Dahir Aweys and many more); but through the Somali people who have been hurt and displaced most by these foreign imports and associates.

One such Al-Qaeda member is their TNG 'Chief Justice' Sheik Ali Dheere who this last Friday was preaching in Mogadishu's mosques to attack America and all evil White People and who was praising the Taliban in Kandahar (see Midnimo.com); but Dear James, Mr. Randolph Kent will not tell you so! But Mr. MM Ali, the Editor of Panorama in Mogadishu will tell you so, because he was attacked and intimidated by these ruthless characters for exposing the truth; some others are not that fortunate as they were eliminated for uttering the truth!

Dear James, ask the Somalis everywhere who can't wait justice to be done to these foreign imports! ASK the Somalis in Mogadishu, in Kismayo, in Marka, in Garoowe, and in Boosaaso! Dear James, read SHASNA reports.

We hope we have contributed to your understanding of Somali affairs of late, and to get educated in Somali politics, please stay tuned for more SHASNA reports.

Best wishes and happy holidays,
SHASNA Team

Mr. Astill continues on his piece with the usual cheap propaganda, borrowed from Mr. Randolph Kent’s UN IRIN organization, about the enmities between Somalia and Ethiopia. We will not respond to this shamelessness, but we will share with you a response by Fisseha Adugna, Charge d’Affaires of the Ethiopian Embassy:

Somalia's patient friend
The Guardian - United Kingdom; Dec 11, 2001
BY FISSEHA ADUGNA

The Guardian: James Astill (Wrong target, December 4) includes in his article the phrase "to strike Somalia on Ethiopia's advice would be like invading Pakistan on a tip-off from India". This assertion is wrong.

Hundreds of thousands of Somalis have sought refuge in Ethiopia. We have never closed our doors to them, despite limited domestic resources. Ethiopia continues to be a venue for national reconciliation talks among the warring factions in Somalia. It has been mandated by the Organisation of African Unity and the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development to help with the peace and reconciliation process in Somalia. We proudly continue to carry out this role with patience.

We share thousands of kilometres of common border with Somalia. We share people, culture and destiny. We are their friends in their time of need and they know this. No one involved in the peace process needs a distant witness with their own sinister agenda about Ethiopia.

Ethiopia has never advised anyone "to invade" any country. Ethiopia has fought terrorist groups when they tried to destabilise our country through a series of assassination attempts, bomb blasts and sabotage activities. Al-Itihaad has a well proven track record of terrorist activities. As we have fought against terrorism in the past, so shall we continue, now as a member of the international coalition, contributing our share to defeat it. END

Conclusion: As we have indicated in numerous times in the past, Ethiopia stands alone, and alone they supremely stand, as the only country in Africa and in Arabia that opened its doors to hapless and helpless Somali refugees. We appreciate your help and we stand shoulder to shoulder with you and your fight against terror cells in East Africa. And remember, no sinister UN and foreign correspondent rhetoric will ever change those facts and our brotherly bonds.

In the meantime, unlike the exiled and disgraced head of the UN political office for Somalia, Sir David Stephens, we should point out that it is also about tracking the TNG and Al-Barakaat remaining funds in Djibouti banks, and following the money trail to Djibouti’s notorious banks in the corrupt city-state of Djibouti (see previous SHASNA reports.) Once this lifeline has been shut, including the Saudi fanatics’ supply line, the terror cells’ oxygen supply will quickly run out; and from there on, the Somali people will root them out and reclaim their country from these foreign imports and associates. And just like Kapul and Kundus, justice will be swift!

And as we keep exposing the truth, nothing but the truth, we wish, hope and trust that every individual, government, organization, and UN official that supports these terror cells will be "stopped and defeated." And by gosh, Somalis everywhere will see to it that Mr. Randolph Kent and Ms. Pat Bank’s Mogadishu TNG terror cell will belong to "history’s unmarked graveyards of discarded lies."

Asides

The Hague – The war criminals who directed Siad Barre’s war against all Somalis, and headed by none other than Mr. AbdiQasim Salad Hassan, Hassan Abshir Farah, related terror cells and certain entourage in Hotel Ramadan, and of course the Hotel owner who is the local representative for Al-Qaeda, have again directed other crimes against humanity: the massacres of Baraawe and Kismayo; and the torching of Garasweyne, Hejmacood and Kuunyo-Barrow villages and where most of the resident were either massacred or chased away by the terror cells (Islamic court militias) and sub-clan militias. We hope the UN and their remaining highly regarded political officers pay close attention to these devastating wars and heinous crimes against humanity committed by the Arta sub-clan. These men in Hotel Ramadan and many others, members of the UN pet project, got us where we are today. The UN should not only pay lip service to human rights abuses, but also should lead the way and show some action. Unless of course, as always, crimes against the Blackman and Africans in particular are not considered real crimes! We sincerely hope it ain’t so.

UN Political Officers – POWER CORRUPTS; AND ABSOLUTE POWER ABSOLUTELY CORRUPTS - After a prolonged period of lies and more lies about Somalia and about Somalia’s ‘clan foxholes;’ lies about Somali clan elders and more lies about Somali civil societies, Sir David Stephens and his lies have finally been "stopped and defeated." Now, we can happily inform you that effective this morning, he belongs to "history’s unmarked graveyards of discarded lies," And his FRIENDLY pet project – Somalia’s Al-Itihad TNG – will not be far behind him! Sir David: in the spirit of this holiday season, we can joyously inform you that you will not be missed!

But dear readers, now that we have defeated the Al-Barakaat terror cell and their UN friends, there is no resting – the battle continues. We need only remind you this quote on the BBC World Service by Mr. Randolph Kent and you be the judge: "While the UN was not in the business of investigation, the alleged link between Al-Barakaat and al-Qaeda does not seem very evident." And this one on Reuters: "Somalia’s efforts to build a new government have been a success."

And please remember that according to an earlier issue of the Yamayska of Galkayo, Puntland, "Mr. Randolph Kent and his men, without informing the authorities and under the close cover of the night, have sometime in October visited the port city of Boosaaso, Puntland."

Where were you Mr. Kent and Mr. Wayne Long, and what were you up to?

IRIN – UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, a misnomer, should be appropriately renamed the UN-al-Itihad Office for the Coordination of instability in East Africa!

However, now that Sir David Stephens is patrolling the mosquito-invested swamps of western Africa, the IRIN propaganda might be a bit lessened. But, don’t cross your fingers as the following individuals are still abound and around:

1) Sir Kieran Prendergast; 2) Wayne Long; 3) Randolph Kent; 4) Taye Brook Zarihoun; 5) Richard Manlove; 6) Steve Gluning; 7) Kenzo Oshima; 8) Brian Gleason; 9) Rima Hunaidi; 10) Habib Hamman; 11) Rehana Ahmed; 12) Sally Fagen Weils; 13) Pat Banks; 14) Abdi Salad Hassan.

And IRIN propaganda continues: Mr. Randolph Kent’s IRIN made the following prediction on 5 December 2001 – Deepening political impasse in Puntland: "The elders must therefore find ways of removing Abdullahi Yusuf without any more bloodshed and very soon. One way or another, this impasse has to be resolved. It would surprise me [us] if Abdullahi Yusuf remained in Garoowe for another week."

Well, it surely has been more than a week!

As indicated above, the UN officials at IRIN continue their condescending attitudes towards the Somali people in the autonomous regions and in Mogadishu. And they continue that without them, the Somali people who were just like "…dogs walking on their hind legs" are about "to fall down on all four!" Well, they are wrong again; and we hope they won’t attempt another sinister prediction!

IRIN peace talks in Nairobi – Take it from us, there will be no peace talks (this euphemism has departed with Sir David) with the Al-Itihad leadership! IRIN and the BBC Somali sub-clan Section will, as always, report about ongoing peace talks in Nairobi. However, we have the final word and there will be no negotiations with terror cells wherever they may be!

Osama’s allies – What do Mr. Salad Hassan (TNG), Ina Deylaaf (fake currency dealer), Col. Hassan Dahir Aweys (US most wanted list – Kandahar/Marka/Mog), Yusuf Garaad (BBC Somali Sub-clan Section), Hassan Barrise (BBC Sub-clan reporter in Mogadishu) and A. Salad Hassan (IRIN) have in common?

What do the above individuals have in common with Ahmed Nur Ali Jimale (Al-Barakaat and detained in Dubai), Abbas Ali Abdi (US most wanted list – Mogadishu), Abdullahi Hussein Kahiye "Asbaro" (Mogadishu), Abukar Adane (Hotel Ramadan: Al-Qaeda Hotelier and financier of the TNG) and Mohamed Atef (dead in Kabul)?

TNG - What do Mr. Salad Hassan (Mogadishu) and Jama Ali Jama (Arta TNG Ambassador-at-large in Boosaaso) have in common? They do have a lot in common but here is a clue: Kabul syndrome! No and try again. Well, here is the answer: they are now both clean and close shaven!!

TNG – By the way, after this is all over and done with, where will Hassan Abshir Farah call home? Just a thought!

BBC News | Africa – "Mogadishu’s transitional government controls only parts of the capital and Washington fears that the absence of state authority makes Somalia a potential haven for extremism." What government and what capital?

The Guardian – James Astill – December 11, 2001: "US military in talks with Somali rebels" For God’s sake, what rebels and what government?

In this new dawn, both the BBC and James Astill are still missing in action! But we hope these reporters will soon attempt to learn and memorize the definition of a "government." But let us share some reality with you.

The Guardian: "Mr. Kansteiner added that some members of Somalia’s faltering, UN-sponsored administration could well be al-Itihad people."

Key words: "UN-sponsored administration" and not "Government."

The Daily Telegraph – Ben Fenton: "Paul Wolfowitz, the U.S. Deputy Defence Secretary, said Washington is keeping an eye on Somalia and other countries where al-Qaeda cells could offer bin Laden an opportunity to hide from justice."

Paul Wolfowitz on Somalia: "It is a country virtually without government, a country with a certain al-Qaeda presence already."

A special note to UN political officers in Nairobi, Nairobi based foreign correspondents and Rino Serri, the EU (gutless wonders) special envoy for the Horn: Al-Barakaat (finances) = Al-Itihad (manpower) = al-Qaeda (Controlling entity) = Mogadishu TNG cell (UN-sponsorship and international legitimacy) = Continued Somali strife (no secrets in Somalia and no foreigner imposed values accepted) = Total Failure! Get it and get used to it!

BBC Somali Section – The sub-clan militia and so-called Islamic court radio broadcasters at the BBC Somali Sub-clan Section and their reporters in Mogadishu are in full alert! Warning: be skeptical of their news reports, as always, it is an outlet for the sub-clan and other Al-Itihad associated militia fantasies.

TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS AND CONCERNED SOMALIS:

Thank you very much for your support in the ARENA OF IDEAS in these trying times. The true and tested hard working and devoted Somalis need leadership and unbiased information. We will try our very best to provide that. To other Somalis on the fence: the days of one clan forcefully dominating the other are over. If each one of us doesn’t clean his/her own house, nobody will clean it for us! For all the young men and women: don’t waste your time in this clan rubbish. Stay in school; we may need you someday. For the few who disagree, please be specific in where we err, if we do at all!
