Blame It on the BBC
The BBC Somali Section's Daily & Deadly Broadcasts
Its Mogadishu Reporter, the Clan Agenda and the Abuse of Public Trust

SHASNA MediaWatch has always revealed to its readers about the biases and political agenda of the Head of the BBC Somali Section - currently the acting head of the Africa Department - and his Mogadishu reporter, Mr. Hassan Barise, also a member of the sub-clan. It is an agenda that in private and in public advocates for the political supremacy of the clan.

The two gentlemen alternately use the BBC Somali Section airwaves, and sometimes that of Focus on Africa, to disrupt and destabilize their clan political nemesis, regions, leaders and anyone else who dares oppose their prevailing wisdom and that of their clan, as clearly on an interview with a certain Mogadishu warlord on 20 December 2002, been aired on the airwaves of the Section. That interview, heavily promoted by the section, in clear terms argued for a clan mandate of making sure that  Somalia, by "hook or crook," must be ruled by a member of the clan. Of course reasonable Somalis have repudiated and rejected the hate filled words of the warlord aired on Her Majesty's esteemed airwaves, but the BBC Somali Section has yet to! Hate has no place and is no longer tolerated anywhere in the world, but it sure has found home and stealthily flourishes in Her Majesty's airwaves.

The BBC facilitated clan propaganda, misinformation and destabilization policies have reared their ugly heads in all of Somalia's recovery zones, and they continue on a daily basis. Their political misinformation has effected the livelihoods of all Somalis; it has brought on death and debilitation in peaceful regions, between peaceful clans and between peaceful regions; and saddest of all, their political propaganda and made up news continuously and blindly supports despots, ruthless clan warlords and fundamentalist groups, such as the ARTA Faction and friends.

We always knew we were not alone in this fight against this British taxpayer supported BBC Somali Section; but we never thought we would come across a simple depiction of the BBC Somali Section and reporters in the form of a cartoon nefariously spitting bombs and bullets (Click here: a YAMAYSKA Cartoon depicting a Certain BBC Somali Section Reporter - 31 December 2002.) It sure has been quite a wait and worth its weight in gold; but as they say, "one picture is worth thousand words" could never have been more truer! What an astounding end to the year 2002!

It is our estimation that peace would be difficult to prevail in an atmosphere of first class hate-mongering, misinformation and daily propaganda geared to create clan animosities. We hope the world would take notice. We hope hate and lies would be halted on Her Majesty's airwaves. Amen!
