Somali Television Network (STN)
Mogadishu, Somalia May 2002, The Somali Television Network (STN), television and
radio broadcasting station based in Mogadishu, Somalia, has officially launched today the
STN Radio satellite broadcasting round the clock, which covers Europe, Asia and Africa,
and will be added North America very near future.
Primarily the network service is a Somali language, other foreign languages services, such
as English, Arabic, Amharic and Swahili, etc. will be introduced shortly.
"Every now and then the Somali speaking people in different parts of the world will
not any more feel far from home, they are as close as getting a satellite digital receiver
which enables them to listen the STN Radio satellite said Abdurahman Robleh Ulayareh STN
chairman.
The mass audiences will enjoy and rely upon the STN Radio satellite unique blend of news,
analysis, business, culture and sports to inform them about the political, economic,
technological and social trends. The Radio bridges the Somali communities back home and
those living in a different corners of the world, it act as a link between the
generations. The STN combines the extensive resources of its own correspondents through
out the country with qualified and experience news editors/produces and broadcasting
staff.
We welcome the Somalis as well foreign communities, organizations, business
establishments, government and non-governmental organizations, media houses and
individuals who would like to participate our programs, or intending to have work or
business relationship with STN.
