East Africa University Puts its Foundation Stone in Puntland
BOSASO-, March 9, 2000 PUNTIN – East Africa University, an ex-Bender Qassim University puts the foundation stone of its new campus in Bosaso, Puntland. In the foundation-laying ceremony, many officials from the Puntland government, business organizations, community leaders and the general public eager to witness this historical occasion, attended the ceremony.
The University, which will officially open its doors to the public in September this year, consists of two colleges, the college of Arabic and Islamic studies and the College of Business Administration. Paving the way for the first enrolment, the University is now giving intensive languages courses to a number of students and started recruiting teachers.
East Africa University came into existence as a result of individual efforts.
The founders are appealing to the Somali public and donor organization to help the University stand on its feet.
