Militiamen loyal to Gen
Muhammad Sa'id Hirsi (Morgan), who have been undergoing
military training in
Waajid District, Bakool Region [southwestern Somalia], yesterday
conducted massive
military exercises in the area. Ethiopian military instructors have
been training the militia
for the past several months. Gen Morgan and his militiamen
were driven out of
Kismaayo town, Jubbada Hoose Region [southern Somalia] about
a year ago [by pro-Husayn
Muhammad Aydid forces]. They are believed to be preparing
to recapture Kismaayo.
