Eight die in Mogadishu
At least eight people have been killed and another ten have been wounded in two separate
attacks in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. In the first incident, armed men attacked
passengers on a truck at Galgalato, a suburb in North East Mogadishu. In the second
attack, a man threw a grenade into a house in South Mogadishu where millennium
celebrations were taking place -- witnesses say he was among those killed.
The motive for the attacks is unclear, although its thought they might be linked to
clan disputes.
