Holidays and Happy New Year SHASNA
MediaWatch department follows news analysis, commentaries, trends, news
reports and press releases of the week. We pay special attention to
Somali news in general, and to Arab financed and UN supported ‘ARTA
TERROR CELLS’ in particular. We analyze, digest and separate facts
from fiction. With so many news outlets and so many groups, each one
vying for your attention, we will try our very best to fairly analyze
what you have read or missed reading. Nairobi,
Kenya The
Arab & Djibouti peace process (a/k/a perpetual turmoil process -
ptp) continues: Osman Atto and his TNG sub-clan members sign a “Peace
Deal” IRIN
– “The agreement also called for the establishment of a
Nairobi-based secretariat to oversee the implementation of the Somali
peace process and to solicit funds for it” AFP
– The Nakuru agreement provides for an international secretariat to be
established in Nairobi to oversee the implementation of the peace
process in Somalia and to help raise funds for it.” Now
that you have read all the usual news reports and analysis of this
Nairobi get together, let us give you the real details of the meeting:
who met who; who sponsored the meeting and finally, why this was not
really a peace process, but another calculated step towards instability
in Somalia. First
of all, Mawlid Ma’ane is not the secretary-general of the SRRC. He has
been fired! We hope IRIN will adjust their fact sheet accordingly. Mr.
Ma’ane is also, unfortunately, the political briefcase of Warlord
Osman Atto. Atto introduced him to the world; he finances him; and Mr.
Ma’ane, again unfortunately, will go wherever the warlord goes. It is
not politically correct, but Mr. Ma’ane does not bring any political
leverage on the negotiating table. And unfortunately, it was because of
warlord Osman Atto’s insistence that Mr. Ma’ane became the
Secretary-General of the SRRC, the rival government based in Baydhabo. This
Nairobi meeting was also a failed attempt to reincarnate warlord Atto as
a peacemaker. We don’t have to waste a lot of ink to introduce you to
this civil war war criminal. Mr. Atto stands alone on top of the Somali
loot pyramid as the only one who single handedly have looted and sold
every single factory, telephone pole, copper line, and everything of
Somali historical significance to any willing buyer. He has also looted
every single tractor and heavy equipment in the Mogadishu area; and
today, they are all rotting in his Mogadishu garages. Mr. Atto knows
very well of his crimes and he has always been reminded by certain
members of the SRRC that, sooner or later, he will have to account for
his criminal record. However,
he has been perplexed by the magnitude of the current financial crimes
of his sub-clan members, of which of course, he believes that he is not
being given his fair share! After all, according to him, for the sake of
his clansmen, he fought for it! This was warlord Atto’s meaning and
method to share the new loot - the drying up Arab donated funds - with
his Mogadishu compatriots. As
far as other participants are concerned, we don’t know of anyone else
with any significance that attended this get together of Mr. Atto and
his clansmen. Let us try one more time: Mowlid Ma’ane, Omar Finish and
who else? Of course we did not neglect the one suffering from the Kabul
syndrome. About the newly clean-shaven Mr. Jama Ali Jama of Boosaaso,
Mr. Salad Hassan’s Ambassador-at-large in Boosaaso, let us give him
few more weeks and have him enjoy the coming fireworks! This
Nairobi meeting just like the ones prior to it, will result nothing more
and nothing less than the previous ones: More deaths and debilitation
for innocent Somali citizens and another Somali LOSS at the score card!
And
now that you know who met in Nairobi and why the met, let us examine who
sponsored this other festival in Nairobi. But before we do, let us
remind you few more facts: (a) al-Qaeda is on the run and al-Barakaat
funds have dried up; (b) All Arab donated funds in Djibouti banks have
all been spent (after the Djibouti and Boorre commissions, in where it
was spent, we don’t know,) and the remainder is under the watchful eye
of the US Treasury; (c) UN political officers who fundraised for the
al-Itihad TNG have all been exiled. Having
the above facts in mind and knowing what pressure the Saudi religious
fanatics are nowadays under, somehow the TNG has to be resuscitated and
financially sustained. With the tacit behind the scene Saudi
understanding, enter Libya and Egypt and a $50 million project funding
promise for Kenya and the Chief! But with a condition: Kenya and the
Chief to be a counter weight and against Ethiopia supported groups! $50
Million Dollars -- Hail to the Chief -- please take your money and run! Dear
reader, before you throw up your arms in the air, let us simplify the
truth for you: It is all about Egypt, Ethiopia and the NILE RIVER! Now,
let us connect the dots and figure out why Egypt will export and support
extremist groups in Somalia that they themselves will not allow to be
home grown and will mercilessly persecute them at the home front. You
got it: It is about Ethiopia, and about the Somali religious extremist
groups who will supposedly oppose Christian Ethiopia at anytime and
anywhere. This is how Egypt uses the Saudi religious fanatics for their
selfish interests. This is how Egypt thinks it will keep Somalia and
Ethiopia in perpetual instability! Dear
reader, to keep Somalia unstable and in perpetual turmoil, another
funding source and another safe house had to be found, and thus
this
Egypt and Libya sponsored “Nakuru agreement provides for an international
secretariat to be established in Nairobi to oversee the implementation
of the peace process in Somalia and to help raise funds for it.” This
is the expected replacement of the previously disgraced UN offices of
Messrs. David Stephens and Randolph Kent. Take
it from us, it is all about funding the al-Itihad movement and has
nothing to do with Somali “peace process.” And
as we keep exposing the truth, nothing but the truth, we wish,
hope and trust that every individual, government, organization, and UN
official that supports these terror cells will be “stopped and
defeated.” And by gosh, Somalis everywhere will see to it that
Egypt, Libya and Saudi religious fanatics’ Mogadishu TNG terror cell
will belong to “history’s unmarked graveyards of discarded
lies.” Asides The
Hague – For all UN officials and other world bodies that are concerned
about human rights abuses and about Siad Barre’s regime; for all those
who were concerned about the Hargeysa, Berbera and Burco massacres; for
all of those who were concerned about the mass executions and mass rapes
of women of Mudug; for all of those who were concerned about the
poisoning and destructions of water wells and water bores in Mudug; for
all of those who are concerned about the massacres of Jazeera beach in
Mogadishu; for all of those who are concerned about the mass executions
and tortures of Somalia’s finest and brightest military men; for all
of you who are concerned about the destruction of Somali intellect and
Somali intellectuals; for all of you who are unable to find the good and
kind Somalis of yesteryears; and for all of those who are still unable
to find their loved ones and their finest Somalis, please note that the
war criminals who directed Siad Barre’s war against all Somalis; who
are responsible for above actions are at it again and are headed by none
other than Mr. AbdiQasim Salad Hassan, Hassan Abshir Farah, Gen.
Galaal, Gen. Jilicow and other related terror cells and
certain entourage in Hotel Ramadan, and of course the Hotel owner
who is the local representative for Al-Qaeda, have
again directed other crimes against humanity: the massacres of Baraawe
and Kismayo; and the torching of Garasweyne, Hejmacood and Kuunyo-Barrow
villages and where most of the resident were either massacred or chased
away by the terror cells (Islamic court militias) and sub-clan militias.
We hope the UN and their remaining highly regarded political officers
pay close attention to these devastating wars and heinous crimes against
humanity committed by the Arab supported Arta sub-clan. These men in
Hotel Ramadan and many others, members of Osama bin Laden and the UN pet
project, got us where we are today. The UN should not only pay lip
service to human rights abuses, but also should lead the way and show
some action. Unless of course, as always, crimes against the Blackman
and Africans in particular are not considered real crimes! We sincerely
hope it ain’t so. Mogadishu
– And the ‘peace process’ continues in Mogadishu with 22 dead and
more than 35 wounded. Would Reuters and IRIN like to expand the ‘peace
process’ to Nairobi, Kenya? Would Saudi Arabia and Egypt partake and
extend this ‘peace process’ to Cairo and Jeddah? We will vote for
the ‘peace process’ to stay dormant and be contained in Hotel
Ramadan and surroundings! IRIN
– UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, a misnomer,
should be appropriately renamed the UN-al-Itihad Office for the
Coordination of instability in East Africa! We
fortunately had it right: now that Sir David Stephens is patrolling the
mosquito-invested swamps of western Africa, the IRIN propaganda had been
a bit lessened, but it has not ceased altogether and the ghosts of Mr.
Randolph Kent are still around and abound: IRIN – Nairobi, 24 December
2001: “Aid Group Warns of increased warlord power.” In this report
they quote Mr. Kent as having “…warned that the country was on the
verge of an economic collapse unparalleled in modern history,” and he
continued “ Somalia was standing on the threshold of ruin.” Well,
well, it has been couple of months, Mr. Kent is gone and Somalia keeps
rolling forward and improving, and with the exception of the Arta TNG,
we are not witnessing any “threshold of ruin.” And
IRIN keeps up the daily dosage. This time, Mr. Abdi Salad Hassan could
not keep the ceasefire and could not resist his old-self of making up
non-existing sources. He quotes of an economist, as if there were any
left in Mogadishu, who says people are angry, hungry and the prices are
going up. Bingo, the made-up Mogadishu “economist” is surprisingly
right, but Mr. Hassan has again got it wrong. People are mad at your
brother, at your invading sub-clan, at your BBC sub-clan section
cousins, and at your daily IRIN propaganda. People are also hungry and
extremely mad at your cousin “Ina Deylaaf” for printing and
importing fake Somali currency and thereby being responsible for rising
prices of staple foods. Mr. Hassan, you are also right about al-Barakaat
and about their “devastating impact” on your brother’s Arab TNG
and the sub-clan as a whole. Please note that outside of your sub-clan,
al-Barakaat had no impact on the average Somali person. Please try to
adjust your IRIN (not your personal) fact sheet accordingly! Osama’s
allies – What do Mr. Salad Hassan (TNG), Ina Deylaaf (fake currency
dealer), Col. Hassan Dahir Aweys (US most wanted list –
Kandahar/Marka/Mog), Yusuf Garaad (BBC Somali Sub-clan Section), Hassan
Barrise (BBC Sub-clan reporter in Mogadishu) and Abdi Salad Hassan
(IRIN) have in common? What
do the above individuals have in common with Ahmed Nur Ali Jimale
(Al-Barakaat and detained in Dubai), Abbas Ali Abdi (US most wanted list
– Mogadishu), Abdullahi Hussein Kahiye “Asbaro” (Mogadishu),
Abukar Adane (Hotel Ramadan: Al-Qaeda Hotelier and financier of the TNG)
Mohamed Atef (dead in Kabul) and Osama bin Laden (missing in action)? What
do Ismail Hassan ‘Kutubaweyne’ (Dubai), Yusuf Jama Degel
‘Cambe-Cambe’ (Dubai), Sheikh Mohamed Food-cadde (Dubai), Abdilatif
Yusuf Barre (Dubai), AbdiWahab Mohamud Gurey (Dubai) and Col. Abdiaziz
Gureye Karshe (Dubai) have in common? What do they have in common with
Col. Hassan Dahir Aweys (US most wanted list –
Kandahar/Marka/Mogadishu) and Ahmed Nur Ali Jimale (Al-Barakaat and
detained in Dubai)? By the way, is Dubai, UAE, the new-found-land and
safe haven of Osama’s allies, followers and financiers from all
corners of the globe, of course including Somalia and Puntland in
particular? TNG vs. Puntland – Is the Boosaaso confrontation
between Puntland President Abdullahi Yusuf and TNG President Mr. Salad
Hassan; or between Mr. A. Yusuf and Mr. Jama Ali Jama? By the way, after
this is all over and done with, where will Mr. Jama Ali Jama call home?
Just a thought! BBC
World Service – UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan described the World
Service as ‘Britain’s greatest gift to the world during the
twentieth century.’ We do agree with His Excellency! But
what do the Somali people think of the BBC Somali Section? We are very
skeptical of their news reports, and as always, this BBC desk remains to
be an outlet for certain Somali sub-clan and other al-Itihad associated
militia fantasies. In this day and age, it is very unfortunate and
unscrupulous that their broadcasting hours have to be increased! To
paraphrase UN Secretary-General, albeit differently, the BBC Somali
Section remains as Britain’s worst gift to the Somali people during
these past few years. UN
– Whatever happened to the Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s
“Committee of Friends” for Somalia? Or was it Sir David Stephen’s
“Committee of Friends?” Just a thought! TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS AND CONCERNED SOMALIS: Thank
you very much for your support in the ARENA OF IDEAS in these trying
times. The true and tested hard working and devoted Somalis need
leadership and unbiased information. We will try our very best to
provide that. To other Somalis on the fence: the days of one clan
forcefully dominating the other are over. If each one of us doesn’t
clean his/her own house, nobody will clean it for us! For all the young
men and women: don’t waste your time in this clan rubbish. Stay in
school; we may need you someday. For the few who disagree, please be
