SHASNA MediaWatch Boston, MA , [March 30, 2002] Dr. Ulusso & the Ayaamaha Tabloid Mogadishu Tabloids & the BBC Monitoring , The sub-clan's IRIN & the BBC Somali Section's Sources Revealed, "A Dire Warning from Ayaamaha Tabloid" By Dr. Abdi Ulusso [March 29, 2002] This is the story of Dr. Ulusso, spokesman, north America and the UN Ambassador-at-large of the Mogadishu and surroundings based supreme political and military leader of Mudulood people, HE al-Haj Muse Sudi Yalahow. Dr. Ulusso, just like certain other hopeful Somali elite, has been a supporter of the Arta peace process in Djibouti. He supported Mr. Abdiqasim Salad Hassan and met him in New York. As a matter of fact he has written a very supportive article, which subsequently has been posted on the pro Arta tabloid, and has taken pictures with the sub-clan leader too. According to Dr. Ulusso, this was nothing less and nothing more than the usual engagements with a potential political figure. Unfortunately, according to Dr. Ulusso, this was no political figure, but a mere sub-clan leader whose only agenda was Arab donation diversion and power creation for the sub-clan. Subsequently, Dr. Ulusso switched allegiances and supported his clan leader and does so to date. Enter Ayaamaha.com, a Mogadishu based pro Arta sub-clan tabloid, and a dire warning directed against the honorable Dr. Ulusso. Here is a word for word translation of Ayaamaha.com dire warning against Dr. Ulusso:----- Original Message ----- From: "Ayaamaha Newspaper" < ayaamaha@ayaamaha.com> To: "Dr. Abdi Ulusso" <dr.ulusso@attcanada.net> Sent: Thursday, March 28, 2002 6:04 AM Subject: Re: Fw: Salaan iyo codsi [Regards and request]> Many regards our friend, > We believe you have started an offensive against us, but we have been expecting, > It was our intention to rid of your previous writings in our archives and never to post them, but since you have started publishing new ones under a new pen name, we can tell you that you are not going to win, even though you claim you are a Ph.D. holder, which we think you are not one, and we have an investigation under way, which we have previously put to stop. But right now, since you are an educated man, be careful, it might come back to bite you. We also have, in our archives, pictures of you shaking hands with Dr. Abdiqasim [TNG president] in New York, "THIS IS BETWEEN YOU & US." >> Ayaamaha [ENDS]
Dear reader and media members, the reason that we have translated this piece is two fold: 1) This is an act of ransom, which is illegal in nature and unethical for a newspaper or for that matter a tabloid to engage in 2) This tabloid is one of the few sources for the BBC Somali Section and Hassan Barrise, the BBC Monitoring and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (IRIN) Therefore, ask yourself: why will anyone, such as the BBC and IRIN with a reputation, want to engage with a ransom demanding, civil war fueling, sub-clan supporting and shameless tabloid? As we have in many occasions revealed on our pages, it is all due to Mr. Yusuf-Garaad, the head of the BBC Somali Desk, his sidekick, Mr. Hassan Barrise and Abdi Salad Hassan of IRIN and brother of the TNG sub-clan leader. The aim of these three men is to shamelessly, at any cost, support the TNG sub-clan. And using all sources at their disposal, at the BBC and IRIN, surround themselves with sub-clan members to either win it all for the sub-clan or forever propagate the Somali civil war. They haven't won; we will not let them win; and they will not win! And just like Dr. Ulusso, any previously duped Somali intellectual has slowly retreated from the abyss of the sub-clan. Meanwhile, we have known them; have warned against them; Dr. Ulusso knows them now; will IRIN, the BBC Somali Section and the BBC Monitoring service find out before it is too late?
