And the Liberation War Continues...

Djibouti City, Djibouti,
May 16, 2002

Yesterday it was Puntland, freed from Arta and Arta supported extremists. Their alliance has been shattered, defeated and dispersed; they are in total disarray! For a breathtaking and intellectually stimulating in-depth analysis, read Syed Gashan's "Puntland on the mend -- plot by the TNG et al."

In the meantime and in the next few days and months, the liberation war will move to the southern half of the country. Some parts of the country, including the Gedo region in its entirety, has totally been freed from the grip of Arta invaders and extremists.

As the SRRC supported SNF Military Communique indicates, the Arta leadership in the area has capitulated or been captured; and their militias have soundly been defeated and dispersed. Victory might be in sight, BUT it is only the beginning!

It was only few days ago that three Libyan and Djibouti plane loads of weapons, ammunitions and armaments have landed on Arta controlled Balli-Doogle airport, for the benefit of the sub-clan and destined for southern Somalia.  So much for the UN ARMS EMBARGO! The Arta's Arab alliance might be in disarray but they have not yet imploded. Financial support has been arriving daily. Over ten million US dollars has been pledged by Saudi Arabia, Libya, Qatar, Egypt, UAE, and Yemen;  five million has already been deposited in the Arta coffers in Djibouti. It is only the beginning phase of this Arab supported destabilization of Somalia. This war is bigger than what your average and innocent UN staff member might have in mind. This is a war between two competing interests and philosophies. It is war that will either keep Somalia in the dark ages for years to come or will move it to its deserved place in the modern world! You watch and wait...it is only the beginning!

As we watch and analyze the reactions to the recent and almost free from casualties liberation of Puntland, and the continuing liberation of southern Somalia, the usual suspects keep blaming Ethiopia. The BBC News service, of course fed by Hassan Barrise, its reporter in Mogadishu and its affiliate, the BBC Somali Section, headed by another sub-clan member, has been duped to reflecting the opinions of the sub-clan members rather than reporting the news. But then again, this is no surprise news to Somali listeners of the BBC, as they appropriately call Her Majesty's service as "Been Been C[s]ii" or in English, as "Lies and More Lies!"

The other sub-clan online network, the UN's IRIN, has surprisingly been mute and has uncharacteristically and briefly only reported the truth as follows:

Nairobi, 15 May 2002 (IRIN) - "According to the sources, the fighting is between an alliance of the Marehan sub-clans of Rer Hasan, Hawarasame and Habar Ya'qub, which are supported by the opposition [SouthWestern State] Somali Reconciliation and Restoration Council on the one hand, and on the other hand by sub-clans [invading hordes] sympathetic to the Transitional National Government [Arta sub-clan].

Translation: This is a war between the indigenous landowners and invading sub-clans from central Somalia clan territories! This is a war between Arab money and armaments supported aggressors and the aggrieved!

This continuing liberation struggle enters its twelfth year and, with or without Yusuf-Garad's and Hassan Barrise's BBC lies and propaganda, will continue till all occupied land is liberated from their invading hordes. And the indigenous Southern Somali tribes will slowly reclaim their land, properties and farms from Mogadishu Invaders and associates.

And it is only the beginning! Stay tuned for more.
